Who we are
Holiday Booking Websites is operated by Bulldog North, based in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. For any privacy questions, contact us at [email protected].
What we collect and why
Search queries
When you use the search box to describe your ideal holiday, we save your query along with the AI's suggested response. Queries are stored so we can:
- Display your results page at a stable URL.
- Show past searches as inspiration to other visitors.
- Prevent us from making duplicate AI calls for identical searches.
Search queries are treated as content on the site. Please do not enter any personal information (your name, email, address, etc.) into the search box — if you do, it may become publicly visible.
Analytics data
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics collects information such as your approximate location (country/region), device type, browser, pages visited, and how you found us. This is done using cookies (see below). We've enabled IP anonymisation.
Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Outbound click tracking
When you click through to Booking.com, Airbnb, Vrbo, or Expedia from a destination card, we log an event so we can see which destinations and platforms visitors find useful. This event contains no personal data — it's an aggregate metric.
Cookies
The site uses the following cookies:
- Google Analytics (_ga, _gid) — analytics measurement. Retention: up to 2 years.
- Session cookie (PHPSESSID) — only set when you log into the admin panel. Deleted on logout.
We do not use cookies for advertising or profiling. You can disable cookies via your browser settings, though some site functionality (e.g. the admin panel) requires them.
Third parties
Your search queries are sent to Anthropic, the provider of the AI model that generates destination suggestions. Anthropic processes queries to return suggestions; see Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
When you click through to a booking site, that site becomes the data controller for any interaction you have with them. Their privacy terms apply from that point on.
Legal basis for processing (UK GDPR)
- Legitimate interests for operating the site, storing and displaying search queries, and using analytics in an aggregate, non-identifying way.
- Consent where required for cookies (in some jurisdictions).
How long we keep data
- Search queries and AI responses: retained indefinitely as content on the site, unless removed on request or by us.
- Analytics data: retained per Google Analytics 4 defaults (up to 14 months by default in our configuration).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct data that's inaccurate.
- Ask us to delete data (right to erasure).
- Object to processing.
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
To exercise any of these, contact us at the email above. Because the searches don't identify individuals, in most cases the "personal data" we can help with will be limited — but if a saved search inadvertently contains something identifying you, we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent change.
